Elderfleur Cordial
Fresh Elderflowers (to fill a jar 3/4 full- destemmed) or 1 c dried elderflowers
rind of 1/2 lemon
juice of 1 lemon
1/3 cup white cane sugar
1 tsp fennel seed
3 cloves
1/8 tsp vanilla bean powder
24 oz 50% alcohol (vodka)
Mix in a glass quart jar, cap and brew for 2-3 weeks.
What to do with elder flower cordial?
- Strain and serve over bubbly water, ice and a lemon twist.
- Over muddled strawberries
- blended with crushed ice and strong mint and green tea
- drizzle over peaches and cream
- sip on the patio straight from a tiny fairy cup at twilight and sing to the faeries
- spike your party lemonade
