Herbal Medicine, Plant Allies, Ceremony, Community & Sacred Land |
“All of my life I have felt out of place on earth.. I thought perhaps it was just not possible for me to communicate with nature. I was in a place of admiration of earth’s beauty but had simply become a spectator rather than truly communing with nature. The first time I met Darcey I was amazed at her presence and willingness to share her knowledge. I signed up for the retreat not knowing what to expect and the retreat was exactly the medicine my soul needed. I was able to learn how to commune with nature.. I learned also how to reconnect with my sisters; a beautiful tribe was born out of this weekend we spent together and I came away with connections that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you Darcey for creating an unforgettable and life changing experience and for creating a safe and supportive space for me to heal and become more like myself |

Dearest Herb friends, Earth Lovers, Plant Geeks, Ceremonialists, Shamanas The Summer is waning and we are drawing ever nearer to the shorter days of Autumn. Which also means we are getting closer to the days at the end of October, when we celebrate and honor our ancestors, the death of the year, and begin a journey into the darkness of winter. This is also the time for the Sacred Earth Medicine Retreat. Over the weekend of Halloween/Day of the Dead, we will gather together under the starry skies of the Arizona autumn, in a sacred and beautiful riparian canyon- to learn, celebrate, journey, share and deepen our connections with our plant allies, our ancestors and the land around us. No matter what land you are from, this beautiful canyon will speak to you, and the plants who are our allies, teachers and healers will share their wisdom with us. This retreat is for you even if you haven’t ever made a tincture, or practiced a plant spirit journey. And even if you are a clinical herbalist with years of experience. This is a doorway into a way of connecting even deeper with our plants and inner wisdom and the teachings of nature- for all levels. If you want to learn about herbal medicine, plant spirit medicine, medicine making, and engage in ceremony to honor yourself on your journey, and your ancestors standing behind you, urging you on your path- join me in October for this retreat to create sacred space for this work. We will be nourished deeply with three handmade meals, made especially for us, based on local and organic food. We will sleep in the comfort of an inviting ranch house with a bed for each participant, or you may choose to sleep under the stars on the open air porch on the 2nd floor. We will honor what needs to be given a good death in fire ceremony, and cleanse ourselves in sweat lodge. We will journey to meet the ancestors waiting to help us, and our plant teachers. There will be time for journalling, nature walks, quiet conversation and connection with your fellow plant lovers, and time for howling/singing at the moon, drumming, and dancing. |
“As a clinical herbalist, I’m always looking to find new and exciting herb classes to take. I recently attended an herbal intensive with Darcey Blue French of Shamana Flora. Darcey’s teaching style is one in which she shares her stories and leads you on an intimate journey with both the plants and oneself. With her truly holistic teaching approach filled with knowledge, experience, gratitude and respect, you can’t help but to fall in love with these plants, or Darcey for that matter! She leads her students through a very special and thoughtful process, encompassing mind, body and spirit! Not only did I leave the retreat feeling peaceful, refreshed and fulfilled, but I came away with a new appreciation for the desert and a whole new group of delightful herbal friends. – heidi “ |

“My being is filled with gratitude for the amazing weekend I spent at the Shamana Flora Retreat. The loving care in which Darcey held space for the group to explore new ideas, engage in sacred ceremony, and to connect in a deeper and richer way with the plant allies, was such a gift. Through my participation with these offerings I feel a greater sense of self empowerment and purpose! The integrated way plant medicine was presented opened many new doors. Thank You Darcey for providing such a safe container where I could sit in a loving community, grow, process, and play!” ~ Teresa |

With love and gratitude! Darcey Blue I want to leave the bounds of the indoors and take you out to smell wild minerals of the wet dirt, to fill your mouth with the spice of tree resin, to drum your heart into a rhythm that allows YOU to hear, feel, see, sense, experience the magic and sacredness of the natural world. I want to show you how to see with more than your eyes, see with your body, your heart, your sensual nature. I want to feed the senses and bodies of my clients with the holiness of the plant medicine- not just the extracts and constituents that help them feel better, but with the place where the earth wisdom, plant manifestation touches the spark of life within each heart and body. |
