Turmeric Hot Toddy

What do you turn to when you feel a sniffle coming on and scratch in the throat.  Elderberries? Echinacea? Ginger?

Fighting off the bugs in my little casita this week with this spicy herbal hot toddy before bed and in the morning.  Keeping the bugs at bay and stimulating healthy digestion, circulation and liver health…all at once.  And, its delicious!

 

Herbal Hot Toddy w/ Turmeric

12 oz hot water

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp fresh ginger root, grated

2-4 pinches of cayenne

1 tbsp honey

juice of 1/2 lemon 

 1-2 tbsp elderberry tincture or elixir

Combine all ingredients in a mug, stir, and sip as hot as possible, make sure you are bundled up well with blankets or warm clothes, as you will begin to sweat. Take 2-3 times a day to ward off winter bugs (colds, respiratory infections, etc).
